There is no way to "reset" the CHANGE BRAKE PADS message. The recommended method of eliminating this message is to replace the affected brake pads and the brake pad wear sensor that triggered the message. Your brake pads might have been changed (as you say) but the sensors were neglected. It's possible (likely?) your "mechanic" was not experienced with your year/model Cadillac brake system.
