badrhino
I have a 1999 Cadillac STS. Does anyone no what the "Service Stability System " Warning Light means when it pops on just after starting the car and driving a block or two? It seems if you stop the car and restart it the light or warning never comes back on. Is this just some kind of error. It just started doing it a couple of days ago. I have had the car for 2 months now and it just turned 100,000 miles. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Today is the day you were worried about yesterday! JimD
There will be trouble codes associated with that warning; post them here. In particular the "C" codes. And here is how to display the trouble codes; http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! Well put the car in diagnostics and got these codes: ABS C1227 AMP U1064 IPM B1652 B1343 Also now I am feeling a weird fluttery feeling on the brake pedal once in a while. Now can anybody tell me what these mean. Thanks Today is the day you were worried about yesterday!

Thanks C1227 - Left Rear Excessive Wheel Speed Variation Several possibilities here; You have had recent work done on the rear of the car and an electrical connector is not seated properly? Worse case is your LR hub wheel speed sendor has failed. None of the other codes are related to your stated problem. I suggest you clear all the codes again and proceed slowly rather than betting or guessing. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! badrhino
Took the car out multiple times today and the sevice stability light never came on. I washed my car today, I wonder if that had anything to do with it? lol Today is the day you were worried about yesterday!
JimD
Can't say for sure about the car wash fix. But I can say from experience that as good as the onboard diagnostic system is, it is not infallible. That's why I always recommend clearing and reading and doing it as many times as it takes to get a consistent reading. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! How hard is it to replace one of these sensors if needed and where can a guy find them cheap? Websites? I am new to the Caddy so I really don't know where to look. I want to stay away from the Dealers if possible. Today is the day you were worried about yesterday!
JimD
Are you seeing C1227 again? If so and if you have triple checked the wire harness and connector for the LR hub, then you most likely need to replace the LR hub assembly (the wheel speed sensor is an integral part of the hub). Certainly doable if you have the tools and inclination.
