bds506
Had the car in for 75K service and was told the steering wheel position sensor is bad. There is a nominal "shimmy" at 30+mph but that may be wheel/tire related. Anyone have a similiar experience with this sensor and if so is it $700 + worth of getting it fixed as told to me by the dealer?

JimD
....What does this mean? To me it means (indicates) it's time to to display the Diagnostic Trouble Codes for more information. Here's how; http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html Messages are generic. Codes are more specific. This is probably not the thread I should use to express my opinion about the differences between "Dealer Recommended" service schedules vs. the "GM Recommended" service schedules. Jim Drive your car. JimD
Since the SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM message was displayed for some period of time, there was a code at one time. Perhaps the dealer service department cleared it/them (?). If there is a problem that requires attention, you can be certain a code will be set and you will see the SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM message in the future. In the meanwhile, happy motoring.
