IROC216
I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THE DASHBOARD OF A 1998 CADILLAC SLS, I NEED TO CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION TO THE PCM I WAS TOLD. MY CAR HAS TROUBLE WHEN STARTING HOT OR COLD. IT TAKES ABOUT 3-6 SECONDS FOR THE CAR TO TURN OVER AND MY RPM GAUGE IS NOT WORKING BUT ALL THE OTHER GAUGES ARE ON. A FEW TIMES MY CAR HAS STARTED AND IT RUNS PERFECT WITH ALL THE GAUGES WORKING BUT SOMETIMES IT SHUTS OFF AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN DRIVE, AND THE OTHER TIMES IT WILL JUST JERK WHILE IM DRIVING AND THE RPM GAUGE WILL GO BACK OUT. ANY HELP WOULD BE USEFUL!
JimD
.... I NEED TO CHECK THE GROUND CONNECTION TO THE PCM I WAS TOLD. You will not find the PCM behind or under or anywhere near the dashboard. How did a diagnosis lead to a PCM ground connection? You might be able to narrow down the possibilities by displaying your Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). Here's how; http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html Write down all the "P" codes you find and post them here. Andpleasekillthecapslockkey. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
