scraposteel Posted February 15, 2009 Report Share Posted February 15, 2009 I have a 1997 deville BPMV motor stalled code c1243 , I cleaned the ground on back of motor changed both front bearings (one was going) no wheel speed codes. took out on icy road this winter and cleared abs/tc code and as long as the wheels were spinning the traction wound come on. lock up brakes and the abs would work (peddle would pulsate and car would stay straight) keep spinning and braking abs/tc lights stayed off. as soon as i stoped the code would return. does this mean my motor and pump are working and i should look for trouble elsewhere? done more checking: code is only when engine is running. also if i hold foot on brake and erase code it does not come back at all untill i release peddle. code is always in history untill you start engine.
