1320feet
I would like some info as to further diagnosing this C1760 code from a 99 sts. This C1760 code = LF Position Sensor Input Fault. How would you recommend checking this sensor? Thanks Howard
JimD
If it was my car, I would.... 1) Be sure the link rod from the lower control arm to the position sensor is attached at both ends. 2) If that looks OK, I would remove one end of the link rod to allow me to move the sensor input arm through the full range of travel (approximately 45 degrees up and down from horizontal). The sensor input arm should move freely and smoothly. 3) If that feels OK, I would remove the link rod completely, place the sensor input arm horizontal, and test drive the car in that condition. Clear all codes before test driving. 4) If the code is set again, the sensor should be replaced. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! 1320feet
The sensor has a gritty feeling. I replaced it with a good used one. Everything is fine now. I got a used one from www.cadauto.com for $75.00. Thanks for the great info JimD Howard
