A few times a week I get a P073 History Code. I want to check out the wiring and connector. I have no idea where the Coolent Tempature Sensor is.

Does anyone have a clue as to where it is?

Vince, did you do a diagnostic test yet? It may not be the ECT sensor, it could be an intermittent high resistance or an intermittent low resistance. The high can be caused by an open in CKT 410 or CKT 808 , and the low can be a short to ground in the CKT 410.

Vince, it looks pretty simple to do the diagnostics for this, I will give you what the manual has to offer.

1. key on enter diagnostics

note DTC P073 snapshot data PD04 engine coolant temperature value see A,B, C

A. If between -35deg C and 145 deg C

Perform powertrain ground check, chart 3.

Allow engine to fully cool down (coolant temp less than 35C).

Start engine and note pcm data parameter PD04 (ETC) as the engine warms up.

Watch for erratic (rapidly changing) parameter readings or a skip or jump in

the reading.

Erratic or skipping parameter readings usually indicate a bad ECT sensor.

B. If less than or equal to -35deg C

An intermittent high restisance reading occured on the ECT sensor circuit

Look for an open in CKT 410 - an open in CKT 808

C. If greater than or equal to 145 deg C

An intermittent low resistance reading occured on the ECT sensor circuit

Look for a short to ground on CKT 410

if it is either B or C after you find the problem go back to and follow what you would have done if it was A

Hope this helps or at least leads you in the right direction.
