Spurlee
Well, over the winter I beached the El Dorado in a misguided attempt to create a parking space and split the CV boots on both sides. I looked up some comments in the archive - Ranger and Bodybyfisher - and am thinking I'll do the work myself based on their comments: http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?sho...amp;hl=cv+joint Somewhere in that thread there's discussion about rebuilt axle components being significantly lower quality than than OEM...particularly the boot itself. What is the experience out there? It seems most for sale are rebuilt units. Also, are there any suggestions regarding the replacement process itself? Anything to watch out for, etc? Looks like a 33MM socket for the hub nut and a ball joint fork are all that's needed. Thanks! Scott 1996 El Dorado 2006 STS 2000 Corvette
