JLAWS Posted March 29, 2004 Report Share Posted March 29, 2004 I have a 98 STS. Supposedly Ive gone thru 3 motor mounts. I say supposedly because everytime I take my car to get serviced for something else the dealer states that I have a broken motor mount. Going thru 3 mounts in 2 years doesn't make sense. I can recall one time when I really needed it replaced. If you open the hood and you can rock the engine back and forth then you know your really need one, or if you can feel a strong buck forward when you shift in drive or while accelerating lightly usualy between 1st and 2nd gear.
