dotbowels
Did the deed a couple of days ago. Could have had the Luxury III but didn't spend the difference. Had black with gray interior got black with shale interior. Lots of control differences to learn. Differences are real to me but my spouse said " why didn't you just give what you had a good wash and great wax job?" Well I like the different design and it's a done deal. I'll post a picture when I have time take care all
Bruce Nunnally
Congratulations on the new purchase! Pictures yes, please. I'll have to look up the Lux II vs Lux III packages; I am not familiar with the DTS option packages. The primary year to year DTS differences are listed at http://www.caddyinfo.com/dtsyearbyyear.html for reference. JasonA
Nice. The 00-05 DeVille design has finally grown on me, but I really do like the 06 refresh real well. I think my absolute favorite DeVille series is the 97-99 run. Can't wait to see pics of the new DTS. Everytime I see a new'n on the road, it's such a head-turner. I know you didn't post all of the small details, but when I visited my local dealer, I determined from their literature that I had to go to Luxury III or Performance to get Rainsense Wipers. This is a feature on my '99 STS that I would really like to have on my next purchase. I think it is a tremendous safety feature and was surprised to learn that it hadn't been made standard on ALL Deville models for 2006. Are things THAT tough at GM? Can an individual item such as Rainsense be added to the "lesser" models? Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
Bruce Nunnally
Yes, it appears that on the 2006 Model, or 2007 Model DTS, CE1 Wipers, intermittent, front, structureless, RainSense, Generation II are only available on the 1SD Lux III or 1SE Performance editions. They are listed in the Equipment Group packages but not on the individual options. In 03 when I got my DHS, it was the middle model and had some features I don't have this time because I wasn't willing to pay ($3,000 list) about $2,400 more for them. I did add the bench seat $250 list option. The main things I gave up were the Intermittent Rain Sense Wipers, Bose Stereo System and the power tilt memory steering wheel, and the chrome wheels which were on my last car, which I loved but wasn't willing to pay for. If I trade evey 3 years didnt seem to be worth $800 per year (assumes I don't recover any of it), probably would rcover something for sure on wheels not sure on other items. I had 43,700 miles on my Michelins and they looked new because i rotate every other oil change. I'm wondering how the cheaper Continentals will do? I think they're softer. Treadware number is bigger but probably meaningless. Sorry if I'm rambling.
JasonA
I think they moved to Continental tires on a number of new Cadillac models (not just DTS). I'm sure they saved a coupla bucks. Oh well. You always have the option of mounting quality tires when the originals wear out. Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?"
