1997 Concours Info

Recommended Posts

I just drove a 1997 Concours home after winning an ebay auction.

It has only 12,500 miles and other than needing some detailing, it is in great shape!

Where might I go to better understand the differences/extras/features in the Concours model over the standard Deville that year?

I am trying to learn as much as I can about the car.

The bucket seats and center console are obvious, but what other differences are there?

Are there also good places to go to get parts for these?

As an example, the driver's sunvisor holder on the non pivot side is broken and I am sure as I start detailing it, I will find other things.

Thanx for any help.

Dick

Wecome to the Caddyinfo Discussion Forum.

Congratulations on the 97 Concours; I have always thought those were neat cars.

Places like http://www.gmotors.com will discount new GM parts.

I'll look around for more Concours info.

12.5K on a '97, WOW! You found a gem. What did you have to give for that?

I paid $10750......the tires are original.....look great, but will probably mount new ones, along with detailing.

This has the CD changer in the trunk, as well......no sunroof, tho.

RGStone,

Does it have the 300hp engine?

A silver cherry it would appear.

A wolf in Deville's clothing.

Nice hunting

Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning.

The DeVille Concours has the VIN 9 (300 hp) Northstar along with the 3.71:1 transaxle. For 1997, the Concours has the electronic suspension, whereas base DeVilles and Eldorados got conventional passive dampers. All '97 Concours models came with Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires with an "H" speed rating (~130 mph). Standard DeVille and DeVille d'Elegance models came with Michelin XW4 tires with an "S" speed rating (~112 mph). Spring rates and steering gear ratios were slightly different for the "touring" models (like Seville Touring Sedan and Eldorado Touring Coupe and DeVille Concours).
