nitrous1
I thought I had a problem with the pads and rotors on my STS so I swapped out the front pads and rotors before I sold it. As it turned out, something else was causing the pulsation in the brake pedal - who knows what, but the brand new pads and rotors I put on the car felt the same as the stuff as I took off. Up for sale is a set of used Raybestos QuietStop ceramic front pads with about 10,000 miles on them and a set of real Ac-Delco front rotors with about 2,500 miles on them. Rockauto lists the price on the pads as $51.99 (part number PGD623QS). I'm asking $10.00 plus shipping (UPS ground.) Rockauto lists the price on the front rotors as $56.79 each (part number 18A559) I'm asking $20.00 for the set plus shipping. Thanks, Dan
BodybyFisher
Hmmm, I have to check and see if these fit my Deville. Will advise ASAP.... (you could have saved me some shipping and shipped them with the brake cables if these are a good fit ). I'll bet your caliper bushings were worn allowing the caliper to oscillate.. Mike, I actually thought that I had thrown out the pads and rotors, but I was straightening up the garage last night and found them, otherwise I would have listed them for sale at the same time as the brake cables. The caliper bushings did come to mind, but I replaced them when I replaced the calipers back in 2004. I have never had a car that had such problematic front brakes - one of the reason's that I sold it was I was tired of working on it. I am a bit of a perfectionst when it comes to my cars, if something doesn't work right, it drives me nuts. According to Rockauto, the pads and rotors are the same between a Deville and a Seville, so they should work if you are interested. Dan
epricedright
Dan, If Mike doesn't take those, I'll buy them from you. I just checked and it appears those part numbers match up for my 94 Deville. I'm having the same problem...peddle pulsation. Actually the whole front end shakes on hard stops when the rotors are hot. I replaced my bushings when I did my brakes last as well. I currently have those same pads on, but my rotors are Raybestos. I'm hoping just the rotors are warped (pad deposits). Did you or the new owner ever find out what was causing your brakes to pulsate? nitrous1
Did you or the new owner ever find out what was causing your brakes to pulsate? I never found out what was causing the pulsation. I sold the car to someone a few hundred miles away from me and I haven't heard from him since, so I don't know if he found the problem or not.
