flatback2
Finally got some time to take the Eldo in for some A/C diagnostics (you'll remember all the Freon ran out in 21 days) I was fully expecting to hear "you need a new compressor". The mechanic told me "there are two lines running to the compressor, one has a pressure switch on it, where the switch is attached it looks like the line cracked where the line is brazed" Anyone ever heard of this one ? I guess a line is better than a compressor. They told me the A/C line is a "Dealer Only" item and would cost about $150 with 2 hours labor. Sound right ? BodybyFisher
Here is a drawing of that connection. Yes I do believe that it could crack. That is a lot cheaper than a compressor... Regards, Warren There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises
KHE
It is rare but the lines do sometimes fatigue and crack. If you had access to a TIG welder, you could remove the line and heiliarc it and then reinstall it but for $150 out the door, it's not really worth the trouble.
