chazglenn3
Anyone know if it is an easy thing to upgrade the standard steering wheel in a 2001 SLS to one of the heated wheels from the 2003 Deville? Charles Charles

weephee
The steering wheels are both the same physically but electronically different. The 03 Deville uses a module which is in the steering wheel. This module controls both the heated steering wheel circuitry and part of the 2 stage airbag system. The 01 Seville has a one stage airbag system. You would have to transfer the wiring from the Seville wheel to the Deville wheel and use the heating part of the module only. I'm not sure if this would work. It depends on whether you can use only part of the module. Sounds kind of doubtful. I would take a few pictures of the wheel and module but I don't seem to be able to post them on this site. Hope this helps.
chazglenn3
Thanks, Weephee. Sounds like the 2-stage airbag on the DeVille shoots that plan down. Charles Charles
