raz
I have been having a few problems. A couple of times the engine would stall or not idle right after trying to start, only done this twice had to give it gas after starting to keep it running. I also have the change brake pad warning on which is probably my front pads need to be replaced. The third problem which i have had happen twice is the service stability system warning appear on the dash. I turn the key off and back on and it disappears. I pulled the codes today. 2000 STS ABS C1246 I do not know what this one is. ABS C1287 Steering Sensor Rate Malfunction PCM P1599 Engine stall or near stall detected TTM U1016 Loss of communication with PCM Please can anyone explain these codes and which ones relate to the problems i am having? The ABS C1246 does not show in my code sheet which is actually for a 98STS, I guess this is a new code added since 98. Any help would be appreciated. BodybyFisher
C1246 - Brake Lining Wear Circuit Open (you probably need front brakes soon) You can get your codes here: http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/dtcobd2.html I will let those familiar with this year speak to your problems. I think that a crank sensor can cause your stall problem, but I am not 100% on that. Do you know if these codes are current or history? raz
Current i believe. After i cleared them only the C1246 kept showing as History. Which makes sense since its brake pads.
