Cadillac Mirror

I do not believe that the passenger mirror is heated, but the driver side normally is. If it is heated it has a gold/copper tint to it.

I believe on the STS both outside mirrors are heated. The heat is activated when you turn on your rear defogger. The driver-side mirror is also electrochromatic - meaning it auto dims along with the rearview mirror in the car.

I think your both right ! both mirrors are heated, gold tint is the auto dim. Only reason I say that is (on a 96 STS) I get steam off both mirrors in defrost mode but only the dr. side has the gold tint. don't think pass. side auto dims

To answer your question Jason if the drivers side mirror gets warm in defrost mode(the button that turns on the rear defroster) their heated !

Yes this is correct, after bc6T posted I checked my manual, both on my 96 Deville are heated and as you noted the copper color drivers mirror dims! It would help if I read my manual! blink.gif I have features I didnt even know I had! laugh.gif

Thanks for the replys guys, I was looking for a mirror today and I found one for my car, from some website, but it said it was not heated. If I can find the website I will post to show you.

Would anyone have the partnumber for a heated passenger mirror of this year.

Thank You, Jason

yea, they didnt have one.

My dad may have one he would be willing to sell. As previously asked.... do you need housing or just the glass? I can find out if he has one as well.

Edit: I would watch that auction as well....seems like a pretty good price, but 5 days left....he didn't plan that very well ending on christmas day...people are pretty busy this time of year. Either way I would be happy to find out for you, I think he has one.

Do you need to replace the glass or the entire housing?

I just picked up the entire passinger side mirror assembly on E-bay. Unfortunately, the color didn't match. It was dark metallic blue and mine is a darker midnight blue. I will either paint it or repost it on E-bay.

I was backing up out of the garage around 4 in the morning, I warmed the car up more than normal and the garage opener light shut off. It's now very dark, I turned the wheel to provide more clearance but still managed catch the outside edge of the mirror on the side of the garage. This was not a happy moment. The outside shattered into serveral pieces. I epoxy them back together and it works O.K. This was a short term solution until I could locate a replacement mirror assembly.

FYI - I used a rubber mallet placed flat on the center of the glass and hit it with the palm of my hand to get the back side of the mirror to snap into the metal retaining cross.
