2000deville
Hello! Ok, tomorrow it's a time to take my '00 Deville to the shop; here are all the codes I am facing: ABS C1287 history IPM B0429 current IRC U1064 history IRC U1016 history PCM P0385 history PCM P0386 current PCM P0420 current PCM P0443 current I have a very poor fuel efficiency as well as "service your stability system" is on (besides "check your engine soon" of course). Are any of my codes "related"? Can it be a one major problem or it might be a sum of a few smaller? I have 125K on my caddy and know it is a right time for a tune up as well. What may be a price tag I can expect to fix all those above (roughly)? I would appreciate any comments.

jhall
2000deville, Based on the list of codes, you may want to check your battery connections and look at the negative terminal. Pull the rubber cover off the terminal assemblies and clean them thoroughly, then replace and clear the codes. Check this before you make any assumptions. 2000deville
I have replaced my battery recently (well, over three months ago...) Perhaps that caused IRC U1064 history, Loss of Communications with DIM and IRC U1016 history, Loss of Class 2 Communication with VCM. ------ PCM P0385 history, Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor B Circuit PCM P0386 current, Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor B Performance those above are pretty new to me... ------ and those below have to be connected with my huge gas consumption I suppose (based on my previous research): PCM P0420 current, Catalyst System Low Efficiency PCM P0443 current, EVAP Purge Solenoid Valve 1 Control Circuit I have postponed my visit to the mechanic till Thursday, and am very curious what he says. Will keep you posted with my finds.
BodybyFisher
jhall was saying to check your battery connections. Sometimes when you get a lot of codes its due to a bad or intermittant connection at the battery. Check your connections for being clean with no corrosion and tightness. Take apart the positive connection by taking off the red insulator and clean it. As jhall said also check the negative cable Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
