JimD
I'm looking for help from an expert on part number cross referencing. What I hope to locate is part #'s for passive struts that will bolt up to the front of a '98 to '04 Seville. I've been able to identify an ACDelco part, 503-379, but the single part number troubles me. The struts are mirror images of each other and I would expect to see two different numbers; one for left and one for right. There are also two GM numbers but I cannot confirm they apply; 88985526 and 22064767. If someone has access to a part # application chart, I sure would appreciate any help you can provide. My poor old '98 deserves new struts but I would like to avoid spending $1,000 for parts. Boston Suspension and other 3rd party suppliers do not manufacture their struts, so they are buying them from somewhere. ACDelco?, Monroe? Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! Logan
There is a Monroe # for the Seville and Deville. # 71685. Or try: http://www.partsandaccessories.com/monroe/...part_name=strut Logan Diagnostic LLC www.airbagcrash.com www.ledfix.com www.ledfix.com/yukontaillightrepair.html www.ledfix.com/ledreplacements.html www.ledfix.com/j42385toolrental.html
Dadillac
The 22064767 will work. The struts are the same for left and right sides. Use www.gmpartsdirect.com to buy. They will be listed as special order (as this website is run by a Chevy dealer), and take about 1-2 weeks to receive them. Don "Modern warriors saddle iron horses of chrome." JimD
Thank you Logan and Don for giving a me a little push to keep after this strut part # chase. I'm not finished with the effort but so far I have learned that GM, ACDelco and Monroe can supply "active" or electronic struts. And it appears that GM, ACDelco, Monroe and Gabriel have a "passive" strut that should (will?) bolt-in. I'm waiting for responses to a few emails on this part of the search. What keeps me on the fence about ordering parts is the active struts always have two part #'s; one left, one right. And the passive strut parts #'s do not make that distinction. If someone would take the time to explain away that difference, I would be gratefull. And a question for Don; have you installed pairs of 22064767 struts on a '98 - '04 Seville? Thanks to all. I will share part #'s after the tale ends happily. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
