Jason15036
Hey guys, Hope everyone is doing good. Im Having a little problem with my drivers side heated seat. If I turn it on I can hear the relay click on and it will stay on for about 10 seconds and it will hear it click again. Im guessing its clicking back off. The light still stays on but no heat. Does this sound like and element or a relay. Can someone help me with where the relays are located underneath the seat and what it looks like. I'll try swapping the relays and see what happens, or does it sound like something else is wrong. Thanks Alot, Jason
canadian95sts
read this from Kger2: Well Ken, I just have to share the story of what happened today with you. I just got done telling Scotty over messenger and figured I'd better post it here too. So my wife and I get in the caddy to go shopping for things for the new house today. After about a minute of driving I decide to turn on the seat heaters to Lo. I flick the switch for her seat.... no problem. I flick the switch for my seat..... click click click click....you get the idea. I had to laugh for obvious reasons. But at first I looked at my wife and say "What the hell is that noise?!?" and "Where is it coming from???". She says it's coming from my seat. At this point she sees the obvious look of disgust on my face as I'm spouting off about how i just got done reading about the same freakin problem on caddyinfo. This is where it gets good. Just as I'm reaching the peak of my frustration rant, my wife quietly reaches over and grabs ahold of the console switch and firmly and aggressively works that little bugger back and forth like she's trying to spark a fire. Viola!......sound goes away and heater works fine. I certainly had a new found appreciation for her after that little episode. Let's hear it for girl power. sfyr
I too have a 98 and the seat heater on driver side went out when the car was 2 years old. My family had a 99 and in '00 not only did the seat heater break but smoltered (the dealer pointed this out and showed the burned seat) . It was replaced under warranty and then went out another 4 months later with minimal use. Apparently it's not a cheap or easy repair either, supposedly the entire seat needs disassembly.
