Changed the oil & filter + fuel filter & air filter this morning also did a did tire rotation and reset the tire monitors.. All in all this is a pain in the a-- to do with a floor jack but the jack stands made it a little easier. It took a little over an hour to do. Now I'm set for the winter on the 01. Tires had 6900 miles since last rotation, Oil and filter changed at 2k, making sure it's clean after the engine overhaul now I can go to my normal changes fuel filter was the original one air filter was a couple yrs old Now all is well for the time being.. Get them cars ready for winter.. On the weekend I will tackle my wifes car..and do the same thing....

It is that time of year isn't it Jim. I just finished the last addition to the winter setup yesterday...the winter wiper blades. I was hoping to put off doing the work until we moved into the new house but we've hit a snag along the way. Here's a pic of the caddy in "battle mode". Not pretty but very functional.

I'm in the very same winter mode up here in central Ontario.

Today, I spent 2 hours removing the black tint on my wife's Accord. It came tinted as a used car, and it was limo black, lousy vision for a soccer mom's taxi.

Loads of fun removing 3 yr old tint in 30f weather ... thanks to the archives and Davedog's suggestion of amonia, garbage bags and a heat gun.

Two sets of winter blades, replaced all the floormats to the pantsaver variety, and I cleaned and vacuumed the entire interiors.

The last step was the local tire place who swapped my tires/rims ... this is my first winter with the 99 STS, so I purchased 4 Goodyear high speed snows in August, mounted and balanced on my 97 oem rims for the winter.

I pulled out from the tire place on dry pavement, and what a difference. The car feels really heavy now, the ride is still plush, but much more road noise. I bet I'll be ready to put the chrome rims/summer tires back on by March.

I might not see my baby shine again until April biggrin.gif
