NickySantoro
The car is a '92 Seville. There is a roughness at idle that becomes more pronounced with a load such as in Drive or with the AC on. The higher the engine temp the more pronounced it becomes also. Interestingly, on increasingly rare occasions, at all temps, it is barely present at all. There is seemingly no pattern to this variable. The following parts have been replaced, cleaned, inspected, or tested per the FSM recently... ISC motor, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, module, cam position sensor, pickup coil, EGR valve, fuel filter, fuel pump, PCV valve, injectors, FPR, vacuum lines, motor mounts, brake booster, and all accessible electrical connections. The vacuum reserve tank holds vacuum after shut down. Ideas?

KHE
There is a way to do a cylinder balance test while in onboard diagnostics. The procedure should be in the archives and it it in your FSM. Basically, when the engine is running rough, the fuel injector for each cylinder is turned off and then back on one at a time. When you get to the cylinder that has no effect on the roughness, that is the cylinder that is causing the problem. I would then check the plug and wire for that cylinder. If that doesn't prove conclusive, the next step would be a compression test. NickySantoro
Many thanks for responding. BTDT on plugs and wires, compression and cylinder balance. The FSM is becoming one large greasy thumb print. My gut feeling is that it is a vac leak not pertaining to one particular cylinder. Checking the TB for leaks has shown nothing. I've been up and down all the vac lines several times with no conclusive results. I've used carb cleaner, propane, the vac hose in the ear stethoscope trick to no avail. Again, many thanks
Regis
Found this in Nicky's Profile: " Keeping this money pit running until I'm ready to buy a new Lexus." Nice kick in the head. Regis
LOL I was just going to post a link to the probable fix but I think I'll let you keep throwing parts at it since you appear to enjoy it. Bye. "Burns" rubber " I've never considered myself to be all that conservative, but it seems the more liberal some people get the more conservative I become. BodybyFisher
Sport, now that is no way to get help is it. You threw a lot of parts at it, was that to fix this problem? No wonder you think its a money pit, you even replaced the brake booster. We have had a lot of 92's with this type of problem and it was fixed everytime, Kger2 knows that and knows what the problem was. Whether you realize it on not, you are driving an incredible car. If you decide to sell it, let me know. My son would love it at college, I am in New York. Well on second thought if you did all the work, forget it... NickySantoro
I checked a lot of parts per FSM and threw very few parts at it. Learn to read. Kger has no clue, now or ever, never has, never will. Like Kger, if you don't have a solution don't waste your time and my time posting flatulence. If you don't know, and it's obvious that you have no clue, just back away from the keyboard. I didn't post my inquiry to be an invitation for a bunch of meatwhistles to vent their bowels because I don't think a Cadillac is the best thing since sliced bread. You know what is truly tragic? Since the Bobster left, I'm the board expert, and I don't know squat. That being said, and apparently based on recent posts, neither do most of you. BodybyFisher
Having just gotten off the phone with Kger2 and discussed your problem with him, I know he knows. You have been nasty toward him because he pointed out your profile. Try the archives, there are 3 or 4 identical Sevilles and Eldorados with the EXACT same problem. Of course if you find some manners and stop acting like a Cadillac hating Lexus lover, you might get some help from the Cadillac Lovers on this site who don't take too kindly to caddy haters and bad attitudes . Until then click search at the top. Think of this like you just walked into a store and you are looking for someone help you, do you get help insulting people?
