jndnaps
I have a factory AM/FM/CASS in my 96 DeVille. I'd like to put in a factory AM/FM/CD. I don't have a Bose in my car.. It looks like a plain old factory AM/FM/CASS. Does anyone know the part# or Model# that will work in my car? I do have a AM/FM/CD that I took out of a Seville.. I think it was a 95.. Looks totally different from my stereo.. But it all worked when pulled.. And if anyone has one 4 sale that will work for me, Let me know... Thanks.. cardio-doc
The stereo changed on the Deville for 96 and I believe it was common with the (base) 98 SLS radio. The reason I mention this, is Jason (Adcock) in VA did alot of research on this. I wish I could remember his exact username - something like Jadcock or something close to it. Try to find his username (he's a regular poster) then contact him about this. Good luck, ~Doc --- Direct Performance on Ebay CaddyInfo.com Cadillac Conversations Blog

winterset
a few years back, I replaced mine with a CD head. Not a easy task at all. besides the head unit, you need to purchase an active audio amp (install it in the spot behind the back seat). all the wires need to get replaced, and new wires need to be run to the speakers from the AMP, not from the radio to the speaker (How yours is now). the amp has something like two 32-pin connectors + power, and most important, you need to tap into the serial data line (The purple wire) for the amp to get the signal from the radio to adjust tone/speaker etc. (I used the remote door lock module as my "Host". It was a multi day job., as a bonus, the 99 amp/radio had the wires for the 12 disk trunk CD. I added one of those too. - another days work too.
