Poobah
I'm getting new lower control arms, bushings, ball joints, etc. installed in the front of my Eldo. The old ones were completely shot and the front end had gotten loose and clunky. I don't like spending $600 or $700 on this sort of thing but I want to keep the car up and this work was long overdue. It's taking a couple of days to get the parts so I'm driving a rented Ford Focus in the mean time. What a complete POS! I see a lot of them around but I am appalled that people actually buy such cars and drive them day in and day out! I checked Ebay just now and found that it would cost about $10,000 to buy a slightly used focus like my rental. Suddenly, $600 or $700 to keep my big, powerful, comfortable, quiet, stylish Eldorado in top form seems like a fantaslic bargain! I can't wait to get it back. Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.
Ranger
I just had "Ruby" in for some warranty work. Had to leave her overnight and they were out of Cadillacs so I got an Impala as a rental. Nothing like a Focus, but it's still no Cadillac. I'm glad to have "Ruby" back. Regis
I hear you Poobah. Sure makes one appreciate a caddy even more. But those little rentals are fun to beat on. I've been blessed with two mechanics (Dave and now Ken) that did/do the work while I wait. Usually I just sit around and shoot the breeze and drink too much coffee. By the way.....I'm having "new" control arms installed this Monday on my 94 too. What a coincidence. My wife thinks that it is kinda sad that I was sitting in paradise and missed my STS... Would have loved to drive the Blue Bomber to Hana instead of the rental Crap-a-lier... Man those are bad cars... Thank the stars that GM has replaced them with the Cobats... Easin' down the highway in a new Cadillac, I had a fine fox in front, I had three more in the back ZZTOP, I'm Bad I'm Nationwide Greg
