Dasher
Does anyone know if they have overcome the oil useage problem in the current edition of the Northstar or if that's still "just part of it".
JimD
Can only speak to my experience with an '04 engine. I drained the factory oil fill at 11,200 miles and the level on the dipstick was still in the hash marks. And no, I did not add any oil during those miles. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. Ranger
I have over 2k on the '02 I just bought and have not added any yet. Still in the hash marks. Much better than the '97 I had.
taa99sts
I have not needed to add oil between my regular 3,000 mile changes thus far after 10,000 miles on my new northstar I installed earlier this year. The original engine needed 1 1/2 quarts every 2000 miles.
