Matt.

All I could find was this.

"PZ" for the body control module.

I will look more to see if I can find anything else.

Thanks for the info guys, i have a strange problem right now with the car. I have both the ABS and TRACTION DISABLED lights on, and no codes. When they first came on, i had a code for the left front wheel speed sensor, reset it and never came back. Then i got the PZ2042 code, reset it and it hasnt come back either, but the lights are still on all the time. Second gear starts make me mad. Anyone ever had a problem like this???, its really strange to have these lights on and no codes.

Also, at night when i hit the brakes, my headlights dim a little, not sure if its all related but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Matt

Matt,

First, check the brake light operation to make sure there are no overloads. All lights should be lighting properly.

If no problems here, you might want to have a look at the connector on the ABS/TCM module to make sure all conections are OK.

Not too easy to reach, but if you let the car cool off completely and then pull the air filter/ECM module out of the way, you can get to the connector.

Some units use a military-style cam bail and lock which releases the connector by lifting a lever at the top of the connector and pulling it back. Basically, pull the connector back and then reinsert it. If there's any oxidation that caused a problem, it should clear it from the connector pins.

Also, check the ground wire that is tagged to the ABS/TCM motor stud. Should be near the driver's side and accessible by removing the foward wheel well covers.

If the problem continues, you might have to start considering a replacement module.

Keep us posted.

jhall,

Thanks for the info. I was reading on another forum that sometimes the brake lights going out could cause a traction / abs issue, i do have a brake light out and will replace that and see if it works. If not ill look into the connectors and the grounds.

Ill post my findings when as i get them.

thanks again,

Matt
