Spurlee
Some time ago the remote entry feature on my '96 El Dorado quit working, intermittently first, then for good. I tried new batteries in the fobs, fuses and all the ususal stuff. Somewhere I heard that the antenna is a sheet like affair under the dash that eventually coils up like a tube and quits working. I just forgot it and use the keys like old time. I thought, though, that I should ask here - mayne that's not the problem or there's a way to repair failed systems. Any ideas? KHE
Open up the remote and look at the components - I had a similar problem and one of the capacitor's leads was not soldered to the circuit board. I resoldered it and it's been fine ever since. It may not be the problem with your remote but it's worth checking out.
