Norton1
Turned over 160,000 this morning coming in to work. When I first bought this rig I figued it was junk. Replaced a lot of parts but then it decided that it was good to go and since that time it's been change the oil and add fuel. I was impressed at the beginning by its raw power. Now I'm impressed by its rugged durability. I get in it in the morning, turn the key, and drive to work in comfort. It's still got the original plugs in it and has never been time certed. Leaks just a tiny bit of oil, 2-3 drops on the garage floor that I can see, has a regular "Service Ride control" message that is a wire not connected tight enough. I've looked until I gave up. I lost the left front hub cap yesterday so need to find one of those - I expect cardio-doc has one. This last 10,000 miles has seen a decrease in mileage. It's about 25.6 by the computer but the last two tanks I checked by fill and miles driven and it's really about 24.5 mpg. But colder weather may account for that. My average speed for the 10,000 was 52.8. I'm not much of a town driver. Anyway - until the next 10,000 - you all be well and enjoy those fine pieces of machinery you all drive! And have an awesome Holiday season - Be well and God Bless Steve
Barry94
Steve, Your post reads like I should have written it about mine. Seems that once you go through the standard repairs, then it'll work very well for a long period of time. I wanted to comment about your gas milage. My original spark plugs were shot by 60K mi. The ground electrodes were very worn. Seems the platinum pads fell off all the groung electrodes resulting in rapid wear. I replaced the plugs with NGK platinums and have been very pleased with them since. (NGK is now used in a number of GM cars from the factory - including Cadillac) I would pull the plugs and have a look at each one. Note - The excessive wear on the ground electrode will appear on only four plugs, due to the polarity of the coils. rollingthunder1994
Barry99, Have you used AC/DELCO plugs in your CADDY? When i brought mine they had Bosch top of the line plugs in it, and within a year the plugs were burnt up. I put in the AC plugs about a year ago and they are hardly scorched. Barry94
Barry99, Have you used AC/DELCO plugs in your CADDY? When i brought mine they had Bosch top of the line plugs in it, and within a year the plugs were burnt up. I put in the AC plugs about a year ago and they are hardly scorched. The only AC plugs that were ever in mine were the originals, and as I mentioned, the platinum pads all failed. At that point I had no confidence in AC platinum plugs. A friend of my Son has an Eagle Talon, pushing 300+ hp, and he said NGK plugs are the only ones that will stand up to the turbo/boost. I'll continue to use the NGKs as they work perfectly and cost much less than an AC Delco plug. I had used Bosch Platinums in my Wife's Beretta a few years ago and they were crap. Based on feedback from this forum, I believe others have had good success with AC plugs. Since mine failed early, so I wasn't willing to give them a second chance.
