bigjayzway
Well I thaught it was the CV half shaft in the 98 STS, but I guess not! I am still getting the crunching noise from the front drivers side, when I accelerate. Any Ideas? Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!
Jason15036
Hey I did mine cv joints to because I had a pop when I turned the wheel, I still get the pops when I turn and in my steering wheel when you are turning it, it feels like its pops. Maybe we have the same problem. How many miles yours have on mines got 120,000. Jason
Barry94
Wheel bearings like to Crunch when they get bad. Usually does it all the time, not just when you accelerate. Wheel bearings are difficult to check. A bad one will be smooth when spun by hand and have no visible play. However it would be my first choice. If you're energetic, you could swap the two front wheel bearings with each other to see if the problem moves to the other side. bigjayzway
Ok. I have tried everything. I still have a crunching noise. I only get it when there is a lift on the front end. ie, when I step on the gas in drive, or step on the brake in reverse? It is a really annoying sound, like a click/grind/crunch???? Anyone else have any suggestions? Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!
