pdempsey
We are some of the unfornate that had to redo the head gaskets and the water pump. After all was done the cooling fans are not working. The fan works when we do a direct wire. Has anyone had this problem and can you tell me what to do? We did replace the sensor-still will not work. I read somewhere there was a relay, a switch and a fuse, can anyone tell me where these are and do you think this is our problem?
Ranger
There are 3 relays located between the fans. Check those first. Not sure about the fuses.
pdempsey
is their a way to visually look to see if they are bad or do you just replace all three and hope?
Ranger
Can't tell visually. Someone may know how to test them if there is a way but I don't know how. Other than that you can swap them out one at a time with a known good one to see which one(s) are bad.
Scotty
Check the AC COMP fuse, it controls the AC clutch, horns and the cooling fans. Since the engine was out I would also check that all wiring harnesses are connected. Does the horn and ac compressor work?
