4.9 Tranny problem, Won't shift from second.

Hey guys, I was driving on the highway at about 110 km/h when I suddenly floored it to get in front of another car and my tranny all of a sudden wouldn't shift from 3rd to 4th gear. I decided to pull over and restart my car and this time it wouldn't shift from 2nd to 3rd. I came to a complete stop and a red light and all I was able to hear was grinding as if my gear heads were rumishing through my tranny. I had to put the gear selector into 3rd gear to drive home without the grinding. The only code I have is I039 but I think thats a ride control message. Any advice is greatly appreciated on what to do in this sitiuation.
