Scotty
My parents had a white 55 Fleetwood that we went across country with in 1964. They were entertainers and worked at Air Force Base Officer's Clubs and nightclubs throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska.

Scotty
Scotty Nice picture,do you have others? how was that car on gas as I have been told that they could get 20-25 mpg? Ebby, I have seached the internet and saved a lot of 50's and 60's Caddys as I was so involved with them and grew up with them. They were amazing. The FIRST car I can remember that my parents had was a 1954 Packard Carabean. The brakes, windows, top all worked hydralically... When the hydraulic pump went out, nothing worked.... It had real wire wheels and a leather interior! I had once heard that there were only 500 of them made... It had an aluminum head and ours cracked and we sold it for get this $25.... OUCH, here is a photo of one...to me this was probably a poor mans Cadillac

danbuc
This is my step dad's 1963 Mercury Monterey. It's a pretty smooth ride with plenty of room, and it's 390 get's it moving pretty quick. One cool thing abotu this car was that it was built at the old Ford plant in the town that we live in, Mahwah, NJ. The car has never even left Bergen county. stefank
This is my other US auto...a 1966 Buick Skylark Convertible, originally bought by my father-in-law back in '66. It is bears a VIN starting with 'CA...' which means "Continental Antwerp". These cars have been assembled in Antwerp/Belgium for the European market. It has, among other specialties, a speedo calibrated in kph and a steering column lock, which was mandatory over here. She's still going strong on the original engine with some 220,000 kms on it. WarrenJ
There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises
