Ebby
While at a car show this past summer I came across a 49 Caddy with Northstar power under the hood mounted front to back. I have heard of this a couple of times with the owners loving the power. Anybody else out there seen this great engine transplanted?

Bob D
Anybody else out there seen this great engine transplanted? Oh yeah. In the last few years I've seen them pointing in the correct direction in many variations. In car shows like SEMA and others the N*- has been in street rods, 40's,50's and 60's Cadillacs and a big push in sandrails. A lot of them have superchargers as well. '93 STS.. opened, dropped, wide...fast.
Scotty
I like the idea that in the correct orientation, you can get rid of the exhaust crossover pipe and put on headers or a straight back exhaust if stock exhaust manifolds are available. JasonA
There was a guy who had an '84 Hurst/Olds with a Northstar. He liked it, but commented that for the money he had in it, he could have had much more engine. http://www.timemachinesinc.com/hurstolds.htm That may have been it, but I'm not sure. Note they changed the color scheme from an '84 (silver over black) to an '83 (black over silver). Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?"
