bigjayzway
I am having a bad crunching sound from the drivers side cv joint. It happens on take off, when I take off slow. If I take off in a hurry, I don't notice it. Does anyone know where I can get a cv joint for a good price. I am being told I can't get one around here unless I go to the dealer. I am told I need to have mine rebuilt. I can't wait that long. Anyone have any suggestions? Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!
Jason15036
I just replaced mine on my 98 Caddy and I purchased mine from an Anvanced Auto Parts store for $59.99. Im sure a Napa or Autozone would have them, even if they have to order them. Jason

Regis
Jay, Instead of starting a new thread just continue on this one. It'll be much easier for people to help since they'll know the history trail. Here's my current thread: Strut Bearing Update. You'll notice that it went in a different direction than posted but it was relevant to the problems I was/am having. That way people don't have to guess what I've done or tried if they jump into the discussion half way in. Just a suggestion. Now let's talk about that problem of yours. By a crunching sound I'm assuming that it sounds like a rubber on metal or rubber on rubber sound? Try to describe the sound in as much detail as you can. Do you notice the sound while turning or only while pulling out straight? Could be a whole host of things but I'll hold off on any speculations until we can get more information from you.
