baje55
Hi I'm new here. Hope you guys can help me. My 1999 STS dash cluster is acting weird. Weird codes and messages, gas guage going from empty to full and back; dash going blank sometimes; service airbag lights comes on sometimes; battery voltage too high lights; when key is turned off door won't unlock. This is weird especially when it started to get cooler and damp. In the summer I did not have this problem. Even today it was 18 degrees celcius and everything seemed to work fine. Can anyone help or has had this experience and if so what did you do to fix it? Thanks
Logan
Bad battery cables and Cadillacs dont mix very well. I would inspect the inside 'boots' of the battery cables first. The bolts will pop out. How old is the battery? Goofy batteries can also cause problems. Original, then 1 I bought then this one is new but for some reason I had to jump start it 3 weeks ago and it has been ok eversince. The cluster worked fine yesterday cause it was a nice warm day, but when it gets rainy and damp it goes beserk with all kind of weird things and gas guage jumping around, dash goes black, door won't open when I switch off the ignition as it should. My mechanic insists that I need a new cluster, and I am asking him why does this not happen in the warm weather and only in the cold? Anyone else has experienced this?
