CadiKing
I just saw a new 2006 Ford Fusion, Fords new Mid-size sedan. When I saw it I thought CTS. Does anyone else think so? Paul, Yes! EVERYBODY IS SUPPPOSED TO THINK SO! Have you seen the Ford 500? The Fusion is just a continuation of the 500 because of the success of the 500. Looks like Ford is becoming another KIA! Have you seen ANY Kia that doesn't look like a knockoff? That is their whole game at Kia. Why set the standard on style, like Cadillac, when you can just copy it... It is working for Kia! Did you see the plant they build this year? Consumers are sooo stupid, they buy cars because they look like some car they really want, but cannot afford.. I love to hear the reports about Kia's, with their 10 year warrenty crap, where the consumer cannot get the car fixed! Look at the cars on the road and you will see the Cadillac "LOOK" all over the place! And Why not, When you are trying to glom on to success... Sorry for the crazy post, but YOU GOT ME STARTED, 'ALICE'! (Reference Jackie Gleason...)
jackc
Actually, my first thought when I saw it was that they borrowed the headlights from the Mountaineer. I think its a nice looking car. Had a chance to check out the Mercury Milan version at the state fair. Nice car. Not a Cad, but nice in its own right if you're looking for something new in that price range. PAUL T
I just priced one with leather, moon roof, 16" aluminum wheels for $20200. The 6 cyl. was a bit more. I was really surprised at how much it does look like the CTS, even the wheels.
Chris
I hadn't really thought that before now - but had thought 'Mountineer' about the headlights. I'm still not big on the CTS styling, but the front of the Fusion looks great! Just a shame about the tailights (wannabe Euro syle). I do hate how the new Kias all steal seemingly trademark queues from upscale cars though! -Chris
speedyman_2
Very true. I can't stand when someone tells me they're buying a car because it looks lik another car. That's probably to worst reason to get a car. It's all about looks now. Which brings to mind the 300C's. I hate those cars. And how many people have I heard that say they want it cuz, "it looks like a Bentley or whatever."
Bob D
Yeah, the Ford section at SEMA last week was really pushing the Fusion. To me, it looked a lot like the CTS from fifty feet. Of course, I had to go over and kick some tires.. All the while I was wearing my factory Cadillac N* shirt... As some of the ford reps were within earshot, I mentioned that old adage about "Imitation"... (being the highest form of flattery.. ) Their expressions were worth a picture. '93 STS.. opened, dropped, wide...fast.
Scotty
I saw the TV commercial last night and it looks like a CTS, I did a double take..
