joeb
my upper radiator hose blew off the radiator last week. fairly odd. I put the hose back on and now I seem to have a leak on the subframe crossmember just below the waterpump. I assumed the WP might be leaking so I replaced it yesterday. today, my kid said it was leaking again on the driver side of the motor. leaking a lot she said. I scoped the engine out carefully before i did the WP. the housing seemed drive but i did the WP anyway. are there any other coolant lines in this area? hmm, lower radiator hose, maybe the radiator. or gasp? even a headgasket? maybe frost plug on the block? we will see. Mark Grek
Did you put the new improved gasket seal on the water pump cover?
Ranger
There are some collant hoses buried down under the TB that are darn near impossible to get at. That is why they are rather expensive green silicone hoses that should last forever almost.
joeb
i checked everything i had loosened before and the large hose on the wp was loose. duh. i usually check everything. i put a small fan in front of the car last nite and everything is dry this morning. i will check it out this afternoon after my daughter gets home from school. only 1 mile drive so it should not be too bad. jackc
I hate it when that happens. After I had my radiator cleaned and repaired, I very carefully put everything back together and took off for my test drive - with the radiator cap off..... Duh. Glad it was something simple. Scotty
Hey this stuff happens. I replaced my condensor, compressor, accumulator and forgot that when I pushed the radiator back I disconnected the tranny cooler lines to make it easier, RESULT, a TRAIL of tranny fluid down my driveway, BIG DUH... joeb
the floor under the car was dry this afternoon except for 1 spot about the size of a silver dollar. imagine a spot directly under your left heel if you sit in the car. thats an odd spot. my daughter went to the store and i had to run an errand and when i got back, she had returned. i looked under the car and lined up the drip and it appeared to be coming from the rear of the subframe. i reached inside the rail and rubbed my finger around and there is residual coolant from yesterday when the radiator hose decided to spray down the engine compartment. hmm, i think i have the leak fixed. it also appears dry under the WP.
