Crooked seat

Recommended Posts

This may sound a little weird but a while ago someone in the back seat kicked off one of the wires to the passenger power seat and the seat is all crooked so i re-connected the wire and the power seat is working fine but its still crooked and i cant get it straight, it is just leaning towards the drivers seat it looks very funny when you look at it from the back seat or from outside the car. Anybody understand what im trying to say tongue.gif and if theres a way to fix it?

There is a procedure in the manual to put the seat motors in back in sync, when they get out of sync like you are describing. I have only read about it but the procedure involves unscrewing cables in a certain order while operating the control to bring the motor into sync with the other side. Check the section on power seats in the service manual.

I would be inclined to attempt to return the seat to it's normal position by unhooking the wires that were disconnected before and, using the seat controls, manuver the seat back into a normal position. Then hook the wires back up.

However, I would be VERY Careful while attempting this as it could aggrevate the situation.

Good Luck,

Britt

Hey that's some good advice Britt. I'll have to log that info just in case I ever need it. Caddy_sts, if you plan on having a hot date sit next to you any time soon then I would leave the seat alone until after. Sounds like it's in a convenient position currently. Now if it's just your buddy Yenko then i would get that fixed asap. laugh.gif

And make sure she kicks off the 3-inch high, spike heels ...

...before any more damage to the front seat wiring, headliner, door panels or windows. wink.gif

Caddys ought to come with a warning label about those things. biggrin.gif

Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning.
