mfhgigharbor
Hi all you experts, Here I am again...the Gig Harbor owner of the 01 Deville (basic model). Everytime I drive the car and then park it, there is "water" leaking from under the engine, except the "water" has a slight oily feel. I am not using the AC; the temp here is in the low 60s or below. Do I have a problem? Car has about 42,000 miles on it. Thanks for all your help both past and present!
Scotty
Of course there is a problem, the question is, what is it that is leaking Dexcool will feel slightly oily if you are leaking coolant. What color is the leak? What are your temps running? Have you checked the coolant level? Lift the hood when it's leaking and see where the dripping is coming from. The drivers side or the passenger side? Take a photo if its visible. It can be a hose, water pump, bad cap will allow coolent to escape the overflow, cracked end tank on the radiator, leaking reservoir tank. You need to get your nose in there to see whats leaking. Ranger
Are you sure your not using the A/C? If you are set on AUTO, A/C is on. You probably realize this but I thought it was worth mentioning because A/C condensation (water) and coolant are pretty easily distinguishable.
