If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.
KHE
Could you buy new bands and repack the CV joint? Or is the joint making noise? Seems strange that the grease is getting by the bands - usually, the boot fails in the troughs of the convolutions. If you buy an aftermarket shaft, be sure to get one with boots that are the same durometer as the OEM - many times, the aftermarket half shafts use a very flexible boot that will fail in 25,000 miles and you'll be doing the job all over again. Logan
2001 Deville. Joint does not feel exactly ok while manually rotating. Somethings up. I understand about the boot rubber. Seen that before. Not much I can do when you order online. Hope for the best....$75 is better then $600. It might be worth it just to assure an OEM quality boot. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71

Logan
Allright....shaft came in today. Should have been here Friday (UPS Resced for 17th). Seems to be a Cardone unit. $74.99 shipped plus $50 core. Good news...I can drop off the core at local Advanced Auto. I was thinking I had to pay to ship back....again more good news. CV boots are of the rubbery type, vs GM's more stiffer plastic ones. We'll see...$74.99 shipped vs. $600 new @ Cadillac. I've good luck with Cardone stuff in the past. I hope it works out for you.
