FlamingGoatBalls
I know there have been multiple posts about this but what was the final consensus on the best way to handle this? I was told at the shop today that they are still available but they cost around $600 plus installation. Any adivice from someone who has been in my shoes before would be appreciated. EDIT: BTW should this be setting some sort of code?
Scotty
First.... you SHOULD replace struts in pairs, so you would replace BOTH rear struts... If I were you I would go to ARNOTT and check these out http://www.arnottindustries.com/parts_Cadi...ille_yid38.html
95concours
Both mine were leaking and they didn't set a code either. If you want to replace them with OEM I would def check out rockauto.com they have the best price by far on them. They are 500 something a piece. FlamingGoatBalls
How do those things ride? Will I notice a difference without the CCR? HA I just noticed that the default search only goes back 30 days. Set it to no limit and it came back with all of the info I needed on these things. Seems that Boston seems to be shady and arnett is the way to go. People seem to be happy with the ride.
Scotty
How do those things ride? Will I notice a difference without the CCR? I would post an open message to the members asking their opinion about ARNOTT, BOSTON, ETC The Arnotts seem to be able to suppress the CCR message. If you want to spend $1000, of course that is a good way to go also, but keep in mind that you have a 93... How are your fronts? My the way a STRUT can have NO dampening ability AT ALL and not set a code, mine do that, the electronics are good and dampening is gone
FlamingGoatBalls
Yes it is a 93 and if i am supposed to replace both rears at upwards of $500 per....no not going to happen. Maybe if I was more confident in the condition of my engine and trans. My trans has been really scaring me lately. Maybe my fathers 97 DeVille is supposed to shift a whole lot smoother but im not liking the way mine feels compared to his. Either way if the guy from boston is anything like the members on this board say he is I dont want to have to deal with him or his parts that arent "plug n play". The Arnotts seem to install with no problems and if the ride is as good,...for $300 that is the way to go I think.

Bruce Nunnally
There was a warranty repair advisory tech bulletin that suggested that leaking alone was not a sign that the shock was not functioning properly. Sorry I don't have the full text, but it was an advisory for the cadillac techs to try to keep them from replacing under warranty if the shock was still functional. As long as it is working properly I would put off replacing. Bruce 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube
FlamingGoatBalls
Thanks ill try to pay attention to it to see if it is causing problems. Im not sure how it wouldnt be if it was leaking. Could you explain the rationale behind that? Thanks.
