bigjayzway
I washed the beast today. The 98 STS!! After drying the car off, and throwing another coat of wax on her....LOOKS GOOD! I went to drive home, and noticed the fog lights were not working anymore. I put another set in, thinking it was the bulbs....NOPE! No more fog lights!!!! Any IDEAS???? 67coupedeville
Is there a fuse for them? I would take a test light and make sure you were getting current to the bulb and not just be trusting the new bulb. Check the switch too, switch could be dirty and not contacting to turn the bulbs on. Just a few suggestions. Spence
bigjayzway
My parking lights are coming on, so that would rule out the switch, would it not? I don't know a thing about these lights? I am not sure if there is a fuse, as I can't find the owners manual, since my 9 year old son decided to study it. Big Jay Life is too short to grow up! WarrenJ
Big Jay, I don't know how similar mine might be to yours, But mine has a 10 amp fuse in the trunk along with FOG LAMP RELAY "A" and FOG LAMP INHIBIT RELAY "F." Both relays are in #1 Micro Relay Center. The fuse is in the Trunk Compartment Fuse Block. The fuse and FOG LAMP RELAY "A" supply power to the fog lamps. The INHIBIT relay interrupts power to FOG LAMP RELAY "A" preventing the fog lamps from engaging when the high beams are ON. Dunno how similar yours is, but maybe this will help point you in the right direction. Regards, Warren There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. bigjayzway
Thanks Warren. I will have a peek tonight while trying to fix the seat heat. Much appreciated. Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!
danbuc
I had a fog lamp on my car go bad too. I thought it was the bulb and replaced it bubt it still didn't work. When I traced the wiring back to the Main Junction Box, I found that the it ran along this channel sitting at the base of the condensor/radiator mount. Right at the end of the channel on the right side of the car, the plastic tube holding all the wires came out, and was rubbing on the corner of the channel. It had worn completey through the power lead for my left fog lamp, and that was it. I got some shrink tube butt connectors, and a small length of wire, and repaired it, and it's worked perfectly since then. If you can lift the front of the car up a little, and remove that plastic valance underneath, you can see where all the wiring runs. The foglamp wiring as well as some other things all run through that black plastic tube along the bottom there. Just check to make sure it isn't getting pinch anywhere, or that no wires have rubbed through.

I am doing the coolant, so it will be a perfect time to check it out. Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!
SGT.ROCK
I tried recently to upgrade my foglights to some of those Silverstar bulbs( because I had just replaced my Hi and Low beams with PIAA bulbs ) Well I guess the wattage was a little to hi , they stayed on for a while and looked really good til DRL fuse blew so I had to change back to the standard wattage bulb. I do recommend the PIAA for HIs and LOs though.
