WarrenJ
No ricer should be without . . . . There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises

Scotty
I like his sense of humor. My dad had a similar sense of humor. He once opened a can of Campbells Oyster Stew and there was only one lonely oyster in it.. Well he proceded to write this humorous, witty, multi-page letter to the CEO of Campbells Soup that I wish I still had.. about his expectations, their reputation, the poor lonely oyster and how badly this reflected on the company. Well, the CEO wrote an equally humorous and witty letter back to my dad, with a case of Oyster Soup, stating that he personally placed an ample amount of oysters in each can. This guy is knowledgeable and he knows a scam when he sees it and he is hyping his product tongue in cheek, very funny... he would fit in really good on this site
Scotty
I just looked back at the ebay sale! maydog/maydogg is this you selling these mats? I stand by my statement above! I was wondering what you meant by, "At least I think so"! Now I understand!
maydog
Yes, these are my floormats. Glad you appreciate the gag, but they really are for sale. I purchased a car (2000 300M) from this guy who didn't include the floormats when the car was photographed, I wonder why. They really are for sale, and they really do scare my wife. BTW, You will see that I am selling a 96 aurora at 8:00 tonight. The 300 is replacing the aurora, other than being cheaper, roomier and better on gas than a newer aurora. It is not as nice - the transmission is awful.

The 300 is replacing the aurora, other than being cheaper, roomier and better on gas than a newer aurora. It is not as nice - the transmission is awful. Sorry to go off topic, but a few thoughts on your transmission on the 300M... That's Chrysler's 41TE transmission, and it's a fairly good piece if maintained properly. Use of the correct fluid is ESSENTIAL for good transmission life. A model year 2000 unit should use ATF+4 if I'm not mistaken. There's a fair possibility that someone dumped Dexron in it at sometime in its past, and that's sure death to a Chrysler transmission. I would immediately change the fluid to ATF+4 and be sure to change the filter as well. Take it to a dealer and have then reflash the PCM and TCM (Powertrain Control Module and Transmission Control Module). This will erase all the past "data" the transmission was going on with the old fluid. These are pretty advanced transmissions, very adaptive to the way you drive (much moreso than our Cadillac trannies). If you just got the 300M, your driving style may also not match the previous owner's style, and the tranny will shift weird for a while. The computer reflashes will also solve this. http://www.allpar.com/fix/trans.html There is a lot more info on these Chrysler trannies. We have one in our 2003 Grand Caravan and it's a gem. It shifts very smooth and we're very happy with it. These transmission problems are blown out of proportion like the Northstar's head gasket problems. There was a time when Chrysler's transmissions weren't all that great, but that time has passed. Whenever there are issues (and of course there will be), folks immediately jump back in time and assume that it's another "bad Chrysler transmission", when poor maintenance could have been the true cause of the problem. Good luck, and remember to change the timing belts on that 3.5L engine! Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?" maydog
Thanks for the info, I did change all the fluid to +4. I also did the timing belt and waterpump. My comment on the transmission is really on the autostick part. The shifts are inconsistend and sometimes really harsh. If it leave it in D the shifts are good, but it does not pick gears as well as the 4T80E. I also installed a larger tranny cooler. It is a nice car, basically an upsale intrepid. Cornering and interior space is good. But put it beside the 2000 SLS and it is really not in the same league. Please share the ebay link, I want to see how many views I can get! Scotty
Its funny that is one of my complaints lately about other cars, the are unresponsive, their trannys search and the correct gear doesn't seem to be there when you need it. I have noticed this with a slew of Ford Taurus from 99 through 04 especially and even my wifes Monte Carlo..
