Evacuating Galveston county and Harris county in Texas deals with more like 2,000,000 people. Blocking all the opposite direction on-ramps for more than 100 miles just takes a little time. And then there are the folks who run out of fuel and patience. One more edit: The TX DOT folks did not have the schedule for this hurricane two years ago. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone.
