PAUL T
I remember having a differential problem in a Pinto I had. Had a "whomp, whomp, whomp" sound. It sort of reminded me of a sound that a helicopter makes. Eventually I romped on it one day and the "whomp" turned into "bang, bang, bang". Loose gear teeth tend to do that. I took the back plate off and several metal pieces fell out, not a pretty site. Then when my 69 Corvette started making the "whomp" sound I knew immediatly it needed new universal joint bearings.
