Ranger
Are you talking about pressurizing the cooling system or the cylinders? Cylinders WILL leak down (blowby) but the air compressor will compensate. What you are looking for (and hoping not to see) is bubbles in the cooling system. The cooling system on the other hand should NOT leak down.
Barry94
When the head gasket was bad on my '94, I pressurized the cylinders and quickly found the offending cylinder. crich8136
When I pressurized the offending cylinder on my 98 DeVille, the coolant tank "erupted". It was a bad leak.
