bdiamond
Gentlemen, 1988 Sedan Deville, 4.5L Automatic I am in the process of doing a re-ring rebuild with the block in place. I was able to hone the front cylinder bank. But there is not enough room to do the rear bank. I want to pull the liners. I tried to pull them by hand to no avail. Is there a special tool to extract the line from the block? http://www.glocktech.net/automotive/caddy/ TIA
KHE
I seem to recall that the liners are retained by the head in those engines. It is possible that they are corroded in place. If you do remove them, be sure to keep the same orientation and position as they are matched for the engine. bdiamond
I called Cadillac. They said to just carefully pry them out. I tried. It worked. Thanks for the advice on marking their rotational position.
KHE
Make sure to identify the respective cylinder as well as the rotational position. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71
