1988 4.5L cylinder liner removal

Gentlemen,

1988 Sedan Deville, 4.5L Automatic

I am in the process of doing a re-ring rebuild with the block in place. I was able to hone the front cylinder bank. But there is not enough room to do the rear bank. I want to pull the liners. I tried to pull them by hand to no avail.

Is there a special tool to extract the line from the block?

TIA

I seem to recall that the liners are retained by the head in those engines. It is possible that they are corroded in place. If you do remove them, be sure to keep the same orientation and position as they are matched for the engine.
