"Lord, Let Me Catch the Thieving Bastards at it"

Chock this guy up as one more of the unfortunates who has had their pride and joy defiled. Some greasy-handed slime-bucket couldn't bear to see a pristine example of GM's Flagship Brand and just had to put his personal touch to it.

,,,,,,,,,happened over the weekend just passed.

Thursday night I cashed in some bonds and pawned some jewlery to fill the tank up with Sunoco 94 Ultra.

Friday was piddled away by going over the interior with the proverbial fine tooth comb; first with wrenches and TORX spanners tightening and securing anything that needed it and then vacuuming, waxing, vinyl 'n leather conditioning all the requisite areas that needed it.

Spent the entire day Saturday washing/detailing and giving a 3-level protection layer (swirl remover/glaze/paste wax) to the exterior in preparation of storing "Lucille" over the coming winter. Prior to attacking the exterior I went through the engine bay and degreased/detailed throughout, as I hate working on a filthy engine. The last part that I attended to was the rims and tires.

Sunday dawned bright and full of promise. Just hadda do some previously ignored committments, then spend the rest of the day profiling around town and cruising through the countryside.

Headed out to the local big-box grocery store to load up on the coming weeks' vittles - something I shoulda done earlier in the weekend but was kinda pre-disposed, if you know what I mean. Nothing worse than having to fire up your Steed halfway through a 3 level detailin' and head out for some chorin' - kinda ruins the buzz, if you get the photo.

Came out of the store and noticed something not quite right with the left side of Lucille.

Ahh, that's it - my 2 centre caps are missing from that side! The ones from the 2003 SDVs - they're chromed and have the newer wreath/crest log embossed on them. If I'm not mistaken, they go for $110 bucks EACH from the dealerships.

The rims are stock for a '97 SDV ie; they are brushed aluminum. The brushed aluminum centrecaps looked all the worse for wear - streaked, stained, not a pleasant sight, so I went for an upgrade of sorts. I pony'd up for the chrome variety and went for the updated wreath/crest logo, seeing as I was doing it for the rest of the emblems. Might as well be consistent, eh?

Please, Lord, let me be present the NEXT time and catch some scum-sucking-smegma-breathed-pig-wart laying his greasy hands on my pride and joy. Please.

Oops, I feel your pain. Sorry for your loss.

If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.

I came outside a few nights ago, sneaking of course, behind a young guy (not much older than myself (19ish) but young, whom was prying my seville sts enblem off my trunk lock with a screw driver, I politely placed a rifle (pelet gun- unloaded of course) about 5 arm lengths from his head--- little bastard ran!!!! if you read my post a few back in the dark pages (about 5 pages back titled vandelism) youll see why I use weapons.

I would not even ever ever ever consider carrying an unloaded weapon.

If you are not prepared to use it, don't bring it.

whats the sense of carrying something that is not ready for action

Sorry to hear of your loss. I do carry those center caps in great shape for $42/apiece plus shipping. PayPal (credit cards) accepted.

Or you might consider a set of four new chrome/gold center caps:

Not trying to undermine your loss, but lots worse things can happen. A coupe of months ago, I was at wally world, with my sts's crimson pearl paint screaming as it always does.

Some asshole couldn't stand it. I came and when hit the fob to open the trunk the asshole laied a 2.5 foot long scratch across the lenght of the decklid, right down into the primer.

Yeah, it's fixed, but you can tell it's fixed. There are other types of assholes too, ones that know that it's a proven fact that some colors cannot be matched, not matter how good the painter is. That's life with pearl paints, and I was aware of the fact when I bought the car.

I have to disagree an01sts. My white diamond was repainted after a minor front end collision and it is undetectable. I realize that red may be a little harder but I do believe if the painter is good, he can match it.

My wife's 1998 Deville in Mulberry Metallic has been repaired a couple of times because of IDIOTS! The repairs are undetectable. The boys at Bob Moore Cadillac - North Body Shop in Oklahoma City are EXCEPTIONAL! I hope it is ok to give a plug for them. :D

I would have had the 12 gauge fully loaded with 000 buckshot and ready to do some talking. I have had to deal with vandalism and theft before. My 90 bonneville was stolen and I had to drive to Fort Wayne, IN from Saginaw, MI to get it back. That was around 6 years ago and I won't let it happen again.(It was my father's fault that time) I feel if someone want s to steal/deface my property then they must deal with the consequences of my Remington tearing a chunk out of their @ss or other body parts. Sorry to hear about the theft Frost. Glad to hear Cardi Doc came to the rescue for ya.

I lost my rear emblem three times. Ebay was the cheapest replacement at $15 versus $100 at the dealer. Hope the ebay emblem didn't below to one of your vehicles. Perhaps your missing parts are listed on ebay.

Cheers
