rollingthunder1994
Hey Scotty , Whats going on. How are you and the family? How is the car running? I have 116,000 miles. And this weekend i'm going to change front and rear struts. i brought them from Caddy. I know i could have gotten the aftermarket for cheaper but i flipped a coin and i'm taking a chance on OEM. I usually only buy KYB but my auto shop does not have them for caddy.

Do you have a spring compressor for the front? Let me know if you need any help/tools, I could be there quickly..
Scotty
Explain some of the symptoms you were getting that made you change your struts. We recently have been having some discussions (also a 1994) about front end problems and struts check out this thread.. I am curious what you have been experiencing... rollingthunder1994
When i first start the car put it in drive and step on the gas i hear a sound that sounds like a duck sound. It's sounds like a quack sound. After that i check for codes and i get a right front height position sensor and a left rear position sensor fault. The struts did not cost me anything. My landlord works for King O'Rouke Cadillac in Lynbrook and he ordered them for me without documenting the order. So i figured with the milage i have, i should change them. I'm not only a performance nut, I'm also a handeling nut.

It's sounds like a quack sound. After that i check for codes and i get a right front height position sensor and a left rear position sensor fault. The quack is the ABS system self-test. Its normal for it to do this after every restart. The codes you're seeing are a separate issue. They're telling you there are problems with the ride control electronics - but this does not automatically translate into bad struts. Its probable that if you just replace the struts, it will not make these codes go away. You'll want to troubleshoot the codes using the diagnostic trees in the Factory Service Manual. And be cool about the guy and the parts - don't want to get anybody fired!!.
