davedog
Over the past week gas actually went down to about $2.46 for the lowest grade stuff. Sunday night I went shopping and meant to get gas, since I suspected that the hurrcane would drive prices back up. I forgot! So this morning, hearing on the news that gas prices could jump another 15 cents as a result of the storm, I decided to fill up, figured I knew it would be higher than sunday, but better then three days from now. I usually fill up at the station in front of the wallmart in our town, they usually have the best deal. It had aleady gone up to $2.59 for the low grade. I happened to look across the street at the BP, and noticed that their sign said $2.4_ with the last number missing. I figured, "Well hey, even if that last number is a 9, it's 10 cents cheaper. So I pulled across the street. There was a line. The price was $2.46 for the low grade! I had some free time, so I decided to wait. Turns out that (I guess because of the price), that they had run out of the low grade, and had refililled, but it was taking a while to get into the system, because the guy in front of me gave up when it took him 15 minutes to pump ONE GALLON of gas!!!! All the pumps where like this. I pulled in, and selected the middle grade like I usually do, and it pumped normally, so I guess it was only the low stuff having the slow pump time. Everyone else was looking over all jelous at my speedy pumping time! LOL. Then I relized that it still said $2.46 per gallon! I printed my reciept, sure enough I had got the mid grade for the price of the low grade...$2.46!!! I walked to the other pumps, showed the other customers my reciept, and suggested they switch, and then the gas station attendant came out and said that everyone could get the mid grade for the price of the low stuff! Not sure why there price was still so low to begin with, but that added with the mid grade for low grade price made my day! I'm sure by next week I won't be so lucky. <_> -dave Crystal Red Tintcoat Exterior | Shale/Brownstone Interior | 32k

Oldgamer
I run regular. I got back from my sisters where I filled with regular and reset the fuel meter. Made around 65-69 miles to home and didn't believe what I saw: only spent 2.4 gl. I don't know if it is related or not to recently rebuilt transmission but it's not bad for 11 years old car with original injectors, plugs, and wires.
