Oldgamer
Ok. This morning I took my car back from the shop. Transmision works fine. It shifts down when I accelerate hard enough, not hesitates, shifts smoth. Mechanic changed all screens, gaskets, seals, clutches and bands. He changed solenoids also despite I told him they are new, I just changed them. My valet is lighter for $2000. He took car at Tuesday morning and called yesterday afternoon that he already did drive test. He gave me a warranty for 12m/12,000. I checked codes just in case if they damaged or forget to connect something back. No codes, everything Ok now. Glad to have my baby in a garage. And you know what? Now I'm feeling more comfident about some small things like changing transmission oil or solenoids even. Now it doesn't looks like a big deal at all. One more: I know now exactly: it's better to change transmission oil at 40-50k miles than 100k and pay $2k rebuild. Simple thing like a filter (not these two that you can change easily) can be clogged and lead to huge problem. I told to myself: in a year I will change fluid just because it can be some dirt left after repair. Thanks to everybody.
Scotty
Hey congratulations! Did he say what the problem was? Did he find anything? You understand why he changed the solenoids don't you? He is warranting it, its a shame you wasted the money but from his perspective I understand it... Have you looked under the hood to see how the R&R went? Oldgamer
Scotty, you are right. He changed everything because of a warranty. As he said, it's better to change it than drop whole transmission again. He changed even wire with connectors, transaxle position switch and pressure solenoid too. As I understand he don't even bother to make correct diagnosis. It doesn't matter for him, cause he changed practically all parts that can wear. He showed me a clogged filter and says that can be a problem. He told me to step by next week, so he could check the fluid level (or something else). I opened the hood, but what can I see? Not much. It's looks like before, I guess.
